San Lorenzo at Estadio Pedro Bidegain (Buenos Aires), The match will take place at Estadio Pedro Bidegain in Buenos Aires on Saturday, July 9, 2009.
Saint Lorenzo isn’t nearly as strong as it was in its prime. With 12 league titles under their belt, the Ravens are multiple national champions. The Cope Libertadores was won by the Argentines, which included the “gold” they won in 2013. Last year, however, Example came in a very modest 21st position. They also took just 15 points in 14 matches in Copa Diego Maradona. The club began in the championship with a modest success. It won the championship for the entire month of June. However, it was essentially “stamping” draws. The new month started with the defeat of Barracas Central, the brave newcomer to the division.
Boca Juniors appears to be unable to win on both fronts. Last year, the Genoese lost their league title. River Plate took the gold for the first and only time since 2014. Sebastian Battaglia and his wards won Copa Diego Maradona in the new year. This was their first recognition as coaches. The Copa Libertadores had a great group round for the Argentines. In the 1/8 finals, there was a fight with Brazil’s giant, Corinthians. The Argentines were defeated on penalties after both matches ended at 0-0. They were still leading before the fifth blow. However, Boca Juniors lost on penalties in Liga Profesional after several victories. They lost 1-2 at home to Union. Then, in Buenos Aires, they let a rout of a modest Banfield with a score 0-3.
San Lorenzo was unable to beat Boca Juniors in 7 of the matches. This was within the context of the championship last year. “Genoese”, during this period, won four times. In January, Boca won a Torneos de Verano final due to Vazquez’s goal. Boca Juniors is considered a favourite even on the road. However, that does not mean they are capable of living up to their status. San Lorenzo isn’t bad and won’t lose at home.
Prediction: San Lorenzo to win with +0.5 handicap (1X).
