Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has made it clear that he wants to leave the club, saying he wants to return to play in Serie A again in this summer transfer window.
Andreas Pereirawas loaned out to Lazio in Serie A last season
The former Brazil international was once a No. 10 starter at United, but with the addition of Bruno Fernandez, Solskjaer dropped him. Last season, he was loaned out to Lazio in Serie A. However, his performance was equally mediocre and failed to convince Lazio to buy him out.
However, Pereira is still eager to return to Lazio, where he made 33 appearances in all competitions last season. In an interview with Italian transfer specialist Di Marzio, the United midfielder made it clear that he would like to return to Lazio the most: “If I had more time, I would like to return to Lazio. Rome could be my last home, I had a good time there. I know that I would play better if I were given more space. Even the fans agree, that’s what they say to me on social media sites.“
it is unlikely for Pereira to participate in the next World Cup
Pereira’s contract with Manchester United doesn’t expire until 2023. But he is eager to increase his playing time and hopes to return to the Brazil team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Being a substitute among substitutes at Manchester United will certainly not achieve that goal. He will have to play as a starter to have a chance, like his teammate Fred. The latter has already returned to the Samba and was a starter at this summer’s Copa America.
Pereira’s chances of starting at Manchester United are very low
If he stays at United, Pereira’s chances of starting could be very low. In the number 10 position, he will have to face Bruno Fernandez, Van Der Beek, Lingard and Mata, while at the back there are Fred, McTominay and Matic. If he goes to the side, United’s wingers are now in staggering numbers, with newcomers Sancho, Rashford, Amad Diallo, Daniel James, Martial and Mason Greenwood all lined up to play.
Lazio has no intention of the Brazilian midfielder
Unfortunately, while Pereira is eager to return to Lazio, the Serie A side has no intention of renewing his loan or bringing him in again, and, at the moment, no other clubs are interested in him either.
According to the German transfer market, the 25-year-old Pereyra is currently valued at just 8 million euros, or about £6.84 million.
If United were to sell Pereira at this price, there might be some buyers interested, however, according to rumors in the English media, United bid more than 10 million pounds for him, while Lazio’s price is close to 20 million if they want to buy out Pereira, so it is naturally impossible to reach a deal at this price.
