depay has been grabbing headlines throughout the summer despite only having moved to Barca from Lyon a few years ago. His first year at Nou Camp was somewhat disappointing.
Barcelona has made some changes to their approach since then. Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have added a lot of competition for the top spots and cast doubts about Depay’s future.
Romano’s latest column for CaughtOffside names Depay as a player to keep an eye on in the next hours. The Netherlands international has the option to end his contract and Man Utd has recently considered him as a possibility. Romano said that although there have not been any new or updated contacts with Man United, Romano believes Depay is worth watching until the end. He can terminate his contract with Barcelona at any moment.
Depay was close to joining Juventus but I don’t know of any progress over joining Real Sociedad. United has explored the possibility but that’s it.

United already have quality in attack after the recent signing of Antony, while Erik ten Hag will hope to improve the likes of Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
