One week after New York City, Manchester City’s sister club, won the MLS Cup in soccer, the club signed Jack Grealish. Grealish spoke candidly about his desire to play in America during his career.

City Soccer Group’s New York City FC won Saturday’s first MLS Cup. They beat the Portland Lumberjacks 1-1 to win a 4-2 penalty shootout.

Over the past few seasons, the MLS club has welcomed European football stars such as Frank Lampard, David Villa, and Andrea Pirlo into their ranks.

Patrick Vieira, the current Crystal Palace manager, also started his managerial career at NYCFC. He was also head coach of Manchester City’s sister club in 2015.

Jack Grealish, the club’s new signing, has suggested that he would like to play in the MLS as a player during his football career.

After a move of PS100 million from Aston Villa, in August this year, the 26-year old signed a six-year deal with the reigning Premier League champions.

Grealish scored his third goal in midweek for the Blues, while the England international scored his second against Leeds on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola has already made 17 starts for the former Villa captain, with Grealish scoring against Leipzig in his Champions League debut back in September.

Grealish, 26, has already made a record-breaking move in the North West. However, Grealish was already thinking about the future. In an interview with NBC, Grealish suggested that he might move to the United States.

Grealish responded to Grealish’s question about playing in the MLS one day.

It was something I said to my dad not too many years ago when we were just discussing anything. It was something I knew would be memorable, and I told him so. “I’ve always loved America, and going to MLS seems like something certain right now.”

“Carles Gil, one of my former teammates had a great year there this past year. I follow him on Instagram to keep up with his activities. He had a great season with the New England Revolution. He was captain, and I was there when he was at Villa.

“Seeing how much he enjoys himself over there, and other such things, I can see myself playing in America in the future.”
