Benoun was an integral part Al Ahly’s defense lineup from the moment he arrived in Cairo. He quickly became a fan favorite.
Benoun, 28, has been out of action since January after sustaining an injury that left him paralysed for several months.
Benoun was last season’s most active player, making just 11 appearances.
Recently, reports indicated that Qatar Sports Club submitted a bid for Benoun’s services at $2.5m. This could increase to $3m with bonuses.
His current contract runs until 2024. Al Ahly is also open to buying Benoun’s services after a disappointing season for the Moroccan defender.
According to LE360, Badr will soon complete his move and sign a three year contract with Qatari club.
Benoun played 51 games in a red shirt since his arrival. He scored four goals and won four trophies, leading Al Ahly to a title in the Egyptian Premier League, CAF Champions League and two CAF Super Cups.
