Ramos confirms transfer
After Ramos announced that he would not renew his contract with Real Madrid, giants including Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on his situation. According to French as well as Spanish media reports, the 35-year-old Spanish veteran will soon join Paris Saint-Germain and will undergo a medical examination in the near future.
As a decorated captain of Real Madrid, Ramos did not renew his contract with the team because the two sides could not agree on the contract issue, which led to his eventual departure. After considering various factors such as contract, salary and the strength of the team, he chose Paris Saint-Germain, which was relatively suitable for him.
Both sides made concessions behind the near-success of the transfer. Originally, Paris wanted to sign the Spanish veteran on a “1+1” contract, but he preferred a two-year fixed deal. The team finally agreed with Ramos on the contract in order to strengthen the back line.
