Chelsea Football Club, founded on 10 March 1905 and nicknamed “The Blues”, has its home ground at Stamford Bridge near the River Thames in the London Borough of Hammersmith Fulham and now plays in the English Premier League.
Roman Abramovich’s purchase of Chelsea has seen the team become a major powerhouse after spending heavily on reinforcements. The team is known for its rock-solid defence and irony, as well as for its overly defensive “bus” tactics, and is a leading exponent of the defensive counter-attacking style of play in football.
