Bolton scored 74 goals last season in the FA First League. This is an indication of the quality of the teams that went on to the Championship. They did not concede in any of the four matches between FA Cup and EFL Cup last year. The only reason they lost was because they conceded on penalties and in the OT.
BOlton uses, if it is not the main clip, then very close to the main team. Because clubs from the Champinship or below honor English cups and the match will be at home, the coach should do his best to please the fans who will be there to cheer on the team. Gerrard doesn’t have the goal of winning the EFL Cup, but he does have the main goal to win in the league. He will be willing to take the time to substitute in the cup match. The Villans have an extremely small squad and a very short bench. Their coach used only 5 substitutions in the first round of the championship and then made 8 of 12 changes after the match ended. Even against Bolton, his backup player will be a struggle.
