Aswan were relegated from the First Division League last season after two years in the top flight. However, they quickly bounced back and won their group, and they booked a place in the Egyptian Premier League’s next season.
The club appointed Rabie Yassin, an ex-head coach of Egypt U20 and three other new players as their new head coaches.
Gabon’s international striker Malick Evouna, a former Al Ahly goalkeeper, was the first to join the club. He was followed by El-Dakhilya winger Mahmoud Haim and Mohamed El-Ghandour, former Al Ahly goalkeeper.
Ahmed Belhadji is the club’s latest signing. He arrives from Inter Club d’Escaldes, Andorran champions.
Belhadji is 24, a graduate of Spain’s UE Cornella youth academy. He then joined the Real Zaragoza reserve club, Deportivo Aragon.
This Moroccan made his debut in the Real Zaragoza’s first team during the 2019/20 season. He was a substitute for Socuellamos in Copa Del Ray. He was also on the bench against UD Las Palmas.
Belhadji was then a player at Spanish minnows R. B. Linense & Orihuela CF before moving to Andorra’s Inter Club d’Escaldes, August 2021.
In his one-season in Andorra Belhadji scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 32 games. This helped the team win both the Super Cup and the league.
This season, Belhadji was also a part of the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. The Andorran champions beat La Fiorita before being eliminated by Vikingur from Iceland in the second round.
