Mamoush was a star in last year’s loan spell at VfB Stuttgart and has been linked to a variety of clubs.
The 23 year-old was a target for interest by RCD Espanyol in La Liga, Brentford and Nottingham Forest, who were promoted to the Premier League.
Despite Wolfsburg’s previous confirmation of Marmoush’s return this season, it appears that the forward may be leaving the club.
Marmoush’s current contract with Wolfsburg expires in 2023. Schmadtke claims that Marmoush has declined an offer from the Wolves to extend his contract.
Schmadtke stated in an interview with Aller Zeitung that “at the moment, we cannot find a solution in regards to a contract extension.”
“We’ve indicated our willingness to extend his contract, but the other side doesn’t want it at the moment.” He added that Omar will not be let go.
Marmoush enjoyed a successful season with Stuttgart last year, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 23 Bundesliga games.
Marmoush’s contributions were a major reason Die Schwaben remained in the Bundesliga despite finishing 15th after a matchday drama.
